Bermuda Accommodations Plans are not unique to Bermuda. The following is a list of plans offered by almost all resorts, hotels and guest houses:
CP (Continental Plan): includes a continental breakfast.
EP (European Plan): denotes no set meal plan, although restaurant facilities are available either on the property or nearby.
BP (Bermudian Plan): room & full breakfast.
MAP (Modified American Plan): denotes breakfast and dinner included.
FAP (Full American Plan): includes all meals.
Some of the quoted hotel rates might be subject to an energy surcharge. All rates are subject to a 7.25% government tax and, possibly, gratuities. Most of the hotels offer a choice of meal plans. Guest houses usually offer BP, CP or EP. Your hotel will probably add a 10% service charge, intended to cover everything from maid service to the dining room to the hotel porter; there’s no need to leave a room tip. I have stayed at many of the hotels listed below, and visited virtually all of them. Almost all of the one-time dowdy hotels have been upgraded, remodeled and renovated, some at great cost. And the surly attitudes that once were the norm have been replaced by good cheer and a willingness to help. If I’ve recommended a resort or hotel, you can be sure it was worth recommending at the time of writing. If it’s not up to par when you visit, I would like to know about it.
