The Ramona - Shipwreck Diving Bermuda

The Ramona was a large Canadian yacht that went down on December 2nd, 1967. The 120-foot steel-hulled yacht ran aground on the reef at eight o’clock in the evening. Her distress signals went unnoticed and the crew of 10 abandoned ship. The wreck was spotted early the following morning and rescuers rushed to the site. Unfortunately, it was too late for some members of the crew. Only five of them survived.

The wreck of Ramona was raised some time later in the hopes that she could be repaired, but the damage was too extensive and the work too costly, so she was stripped and taken to a site off the north shore of the Royal Naval Dockyard and sunk in 60 feet of water.
