The North Carolina - Shipwreck Diving Bermuda

The North Carolina was another steel-hulled, three masted English vessel en route from Bermuda to Liverpool on January 1st, 1880. She was carrying a cargo of cotton when she ran onto the reef seven miles or so west of Ely’s Harbour. She was 205 feet long and displaced 533 tons. Some attempts were made to salvage the ship, but the efforts failed and she went down.

North Carolinalies in 20 to 50 feet of water. Her bow and stern sections remain intact and provide wonderful underwater photographic opportunities.
