The Eagle - Shipwreck Diving Bermuda

The Eagle was wrecked on the breakers northeast of North Rock and eight miles north of St. Catherine’s Point on January 12th, 1659. She was an English ship owned by the Virginia Company and was sailing from England to Jamestown when she struck the rocks. Her passengers and crew all made it safely ashore.

The wreck was discovered, quite by accident, in 1956 when the yacht, Elda, was wrecked on the same site. Today, what little is left of the Eagle lies 35 feet beneath the surface a little more than a mile east of the Cristobal Colon.
