The Colonel William Ball- Shipwreck Diving Bermuda

The Colonel William Ball was a magnificent luxury yacht built in 1929 and typical of those extravagant times.

Originally named Sialia, and then Egeria, she was 120 feet long with a 23-foot beam, and displaced 291 tons. In 1941 she was acquired by the U.S. Army Transportation Corps and renamedColonel William Ball; she ran aground in bad weather on Mill’s Breakers, two miles east of St. Catherine’s Point. Today she lies in about 20 feet of water close to the wreck of the BeaumarisCastle.
