The Harbourfront Restaurant in Pembroke has recently moved to its new location right on the harbor at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI). The new dining room is certainly an improvement over the old one, but it’s the stunning view over the harbor that makes it so special. Even the move away from Hamilton has not diminished the restaurant’s popularity, which means it can get very busy at times, especially on weekends. The menu remains much the same, and the owners still boast of offering the “freshest fish and seafood.” At the time of writing, a 14oz, dry aged sirloin strip steak with potatoes and assorted veggies cost $36.95; 18 ounces of New Zealand Rack of lamb with all the trimmings was $35.50; the Porterhouse Steak, a whopping 42 ounces, on the bone, with potatoes and veggies was a mere $89.00. As always, prices change with time and the seasons so please forgive if we are a bit on the low side (prices rarely, if ever, go down, right?)
If you like Sushi, this is the place to get it. Caviar? They do that too. Gentlemen are expected to wear a jacket for dinner. Reservations are a must.
The Harboufront Restaurant is open for lunch from 11:45 am to 4 pm, and for dinner from 6 pm to 10pm; closed Sundays.
